2017 Mazda CX-4 Review

The new 2017 Mazda CX-4 will be majorly based on Koeru platform with expected significant changes to both interior and the exterior designs to bring a whole new driving experience. The new modern mid-size SUV will attract more customers due to its efficiency, fuel economy, sleek and elegant appearance, in addition to better engine performance making it one of the most sought-after cars when released to the market. It will however, face rivalry from Chevy Equinox, Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Tucson and Subaru Forester.

The new Mazda CX-4 2017 will be based on the Koeru-platform and will have a coupe crossover-like body with thoroughly refurbishment to resemble a modern-midsize SUV. It will feature a four bar grille, a sloping roof, boomerang-shaped fog lights, LED headlights and daytime running lamps flowing in an upright-horizontal slat frill, restyled side mirrors and new wheels.

The Koeru’s bumper design will receive changes, hence the rear end will have dual pipes equipped with a new bumper, slimmer tail lights and redesigned exhaust tips, with the wheel arches pushed slightly inwards. The car will measure approximately 59.0 inches high, 181.1 inches long and 74.8 inches wide with the entire body glazed by sleek lines and curves giving the car a sporty and elegant appearance.

The interior design of the new crossover will definitely offer comfortable rides in all road surfaces and weather conditions. It will have soft and luxurious comfortable seats with a fully functional climate control system for conducive environment for onboard passengers. The car will be able to accommodate five passengers and will have a big bonnet for cargo.

It will also incorporate control buttons, including Commander Control Knob, a navigation system, a powerful audio system, connectivity features which include Bluetooth, USB ports and Smartphone, in addition to a freestanding Mazda-CONNECT information display and a McLaren-650 revolution counter at the center.

I will however, have advanced and basic safety features which entails a digital speedometer within the screen for better control of the vehicle, lane departure warning, emergency brakes, park assist, seat belts, traction control and an adaptive cruise control.

The car will receive two SkyActiv-G petrol engines options for better performance and fuel economy. One will have a 2 liter 4-cylinder unit generating 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft. of torque and the second is a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine producing 184 horsepower with a torque of 170 lb-ft.

It will be connected to a six speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmission with an effective exhaust system for complete combustion of engine fuel and gases, hence reducing hazardous emissions to the environment. This engine options will provide better performance than those fitted in CX-5 and CX-3 models. Its fuel consumption will be about 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

The new 2017 Mazda CX-4 is scheduled for the last quarter of 2016, but the official release date has not been confirmed, with the expected price approximated at $32,000.
