2016 Toyota RAV4 Changes, Engine and Price

For 2016 Toyota RAV4 Japanese producer prepared a mid-cycle facelift, since current generation, fourth, started with 2013 model year, and there is no need for something major. Although the changes will not be significant, according to some sources, Toyota may include 2.0-liter turbo engine into its offer, but this info is not quite certain yet. The reason that may delay this change are the costs that it would produce. At the end we will have to wait and see whether Toyota will make some extra effort and money in order to deliver the turbo for 2016 model year.

As usually, facelifts that happen in the mid cycle bring small changes in design, in order to keep the vehicle fresh without any major production costs. 2016 Toyota RAV4 will come with remodeled front end, which will include grill modification and reshaped headlights. We can also expect new bumpers, as well as upgrade in lighting technology, which became the usual change for the vehicles when their producers aim to make a step further in modern technology features. Rear end will also be changed, but less than the front.

2016 RAV4 will still be available in LE, XLE and Limited trim levels. Base trim LE offers the same standard as 2015 model, but with some extensions added to the list. Most interesting standard features on new Toyota RAV4 LE are power locks, windows, and mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate and cruise control, tilt and telescoping steering wheel with mounted audio and phone controls and an AM/FM/CD player paired with a 6.1-inch LCD touchscreen.

Depending on markets Japanese auto manufacturer Toyota offers overall four engines, two petrol and two diesels. However North American customers had only one engine choice which is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder capable to deliver 176 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. Transmission will remain 6-speed automatic, while front-wheel drive remains standard and all-wheel drive optional.

2016 Toyota RAV4 fuel economy will be the same as for the previous models, which means it will deliver 22–24 mpg in the city/29–31 mpg on the hwy.

As mentioned Toyota may include turbocharged 2.0-liter I-4 engine into the offer, but we won’t speculate about this news, until we have some concrete info about this, so keep up.

2016 Toyota RAV4 price and release

We can expect the release date of the 2016 Toyota RAV4 as soon as next year, 2015, but not before fall. Toyota may even decide to delay the release for a few months and to present its refreshed RAV4 at some of the international auto shows at the beginning of 2016th. Price should remain unchanged, and base price tag should be around $24,000 or slightly under that figure.
