2016 Honda Pilot

2016 Honda Pilot will receive extensive changes for new model year. Design changes, which will include significant alterations both inside and out, will be complemented with mechanical improvements, and latest high-tech features. Honda’s Pilot is a compact crossover SUV with three-row seating and enough place to accommodate up to 8 passengers.

2016 Honda Pilot awards and changes

The largest SUV from Honda’s line-up is also the most reworded one. It received numerous awards from various reviewers, and for different segments. “Car and Driver” magazine pronounced it Best Large SUV five times in a row, from 2003 up to 2008. “IntelliChoice” named it Best Intermediate SUV and Best Overall Value of the year. “Edmunds.com” gave it the title of Most Wanted SUV, while “AMI Auto World” pronounced this SUV World Family Vehicle of the Year. In its not-so-long existence it received numerous Top Safety Pick rewards from IIHS. All these conferments of quality are followed by great sales results and high expectations from each model year. 2016 Honda Pilot will, we believe, justify the trust it gained throughout the years. Its big makeover for 2016 model year will make up for all the waiting of the modernization.

2016 model year brings new design for headlights and front fascia. Air intakes will be placed lower, and slightly revised in order to contribute to overall sportier and more aggressive look of the 2016 Honda Pilot, while inside, air vents will now have rectangular shape, instead of round one, like we knew it. Interior changes will also include several design improvements, including redesigned gouges, bigger screen, and removal of the transmission from the panel, and bringing it back on its traditional spot.

2016 Honda Pilot performance will also be upgraded. It will probably be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine with VTEC and Earth Dreams technology. It will be able to produce up to 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive will be standard, while AWD will be available as optional. 6-speed automatic gearbox will be available, while it remains unclear whether Japanese producer will offer CVT of ZF transmission as another choice.

2016 Honda Pilot competition

Even without these changes Honda managed to keep its Pilot in the top 10 vehicles from its category, with small refreshments made throughout the years. 2016 Pilot will be faced with its already known competitors, such as Mazda CX-9, Volkswagen Touareg and Jeep Grand Cherokee, but we do expect from Pilot’s third generation to stand out from its rivals.

2016 Honda Pilot price and release

Pricing is not published yet, which is reasonable considering that its reveal will probably be during the summer or fall 2015. Tough competition will impact the price increase, so we believe that 2016 Honda Pilot will not stand out much from its rivals, and will maintain in same range as its predecessors.
