2016 Ford Raptor Release date, Review

The all new, purpose built, lightweight 2016 Ford Raptor is the ultimate pickup in its line up with an impressive performance from Ford, being one of America’s leading truck builders. There’s been a lot of fear that due to the replacement of the previous power train, the performance will reduce. The skepticism was however hashed by Ford engineers who assure the public that there will be upgrades and a greatly improved level of performance. With the 2016 Ford Raptor, Ford is definitely flexing there muscles.

The all new off road optimized F-150 monster doesn’t just have the mean look but is also going to be tough, capable and smart smart enough for ultimate off road performance. The next generation raptor will be fitted with a steel, ladder frame chassis. It will also have an aluminium body that will shed off an impressive 500 pounds. This will do the car a lot more justice as the performance will increase considerably and there will also be a little more stability. The Prototype is 6 inches wider overall as opposed to the previous generation. This helps give the truck a mean masculine look and also the much desired stability. There is also evidence of LED lights. Just as the engineers said, the truck comes with certain upgrades, there will be custom design suspension bits that will be redesigned and made larger for racing shock and more suspension travel.

In the previous generation Raptor, its power train provided 411 horse powers from a 6.2 liter V-8 engine and rode on 11.2 inches shocks in the front and 12.1 inches in the rear. The next generation 2016 Ford Raptor on the other hand replaces the V-8 engine with the 3.5 liter V-6 engine with an Eco-Boost systems. There will also be a new computerized system that upgrade transfer case and traction control. There will be several settings for different applications, like the Baja mode, sand and mud mode, weather mode or even rock mode. The driving train is said to produce well over the current F-150 power train of 6.2 liter V-8 engine with 411 horse powers and 434 pound feet of toque. The new truck will also have a ten speed transmission that will replace the current six units.

It is said that It should cost an amount close to its predecessor and will be released late 2016 at the Detroit Auto Show.
