2016 Chevrolet Suburban Release date, Price

The Chevy Suburban has been continually produced since 1934, making it the most profitable and long-lasting Chevrolet around. The biggest drawback to the Suburban has been its high fuel consumption and high gas prices forced some major renovations. The 2015 Suburban and Tahoe were redesigned with more fuel efficiency in mind. Since there was such a recent renovation, the same features will be included in the 2016 model. The 2016 Chevrolet Suburban does go back to its origins with a big V8 engine, higher towing capabilities and interior comfort.

2016 Chevrolet Suburban  Review

The exterior of the 2016 Chevrolet Suburban has gotten a face lift and shed some weight. The chassis is now manufactured from lighter materials lightening the load about 250 pounds. The hood and tailgate are made from aluminum to shed even more weight. The body will be sporting a sleeker, more aerodynamic silhouette as well with chrome accents on the front end and projector beam headlamps integrated on the sides of the grille.

There have been a lot of changes to the interior with comfort being pushed to the next level. The seats are bigger than before with more adjustable lumbar support to shed driving fatigue. The 3-row seating design will remain with plenty of room for luggage as before. The console is dominated by either a 5″ or 8″ touch screen that integrates your smart phone and Bluetooth technology. It is also fitted with tri-zone climate control, remote start capability, and a rear-view camera.

Updated safety features include: lane departure warning, active cruise control, forward collision alert, ample airbags, lane departure warning, blind spot warning and adaptive suspension.

2016 Chevrolet Suburban  Engine and Fuel Economy

There won’t be much change from the 2015 edition. There is a 5.8 liter V8 powertrain with direct injection and cylinder deactivation. It is expected to deliver 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. With the changes in the chassis, it will perform much better than in the 2015. An additional engine option in the 2016 Suburban is a 6.2 liter V8 which will make about 420 horses and 460 pound-feet of torque.

The 2015 model is able to do 16mpg on the highway and 23mpg in the city. The 2016 model, with its lighter weight, is expected to do much better than this.
