2015 Volkswagen Tiguan

New, 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan, comes with few minor changes, although we hoped for something more. German producer decided to add just small refreshments to the look of the Tiguan which is pretty outdated. However looks like Volkswagen has a plan to make the line-up of its SUVs almost the same on the outside. Tiguan recently got new two-bar grill and few other cosmetic changes.

2015 Volkswagen Tiguan is available in eight trim levels which include S, S with Sunroof, SE, SE with Sunroof and Navigation, SE with Appearance, SEL, SEL with Premium Navigation and SEL with Premium Navigation and Dynaudio. As noticeable, not all trims differ much, and according to its names, you can easily assume what are the upgrades for several trims down the line. With small refreshment of the model, made back in 2012, Tiguan got expanded list of standard features. List for the base version now includes an 8-speaker sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, a rearview camera, roof rails, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, an 8-inch touch screen, 16-inch alloy wheels, a trip computer, cruise and hill-hold control, electronic parking brake and leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel. 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan engine and fuel economy

Under the hood of 2015 Tiguan is placed the same engine as earlier, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that delivers 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. Only base trim level, Tiguan S comes with 6-speed manual transmission as standard, while its optional 6-speed automatic is standard on all other trims. Another big difference between base trim and all others is absence of optional all-wheel-drive (4Motion) which is available on all other trims. Front-wheel-drive however is standard on all variants. There is indication that this German giant could make some improvement in order to reduce fuel consumption, but this information are not confirmed yet. Latest info about 2015 VW Tiguan fuel economy are EPA-estimated 21/26 mpg city/hwy for the base trim with manual transmission and FWD, up to 18/26 mpg for AWD models. We will have to wait and see whether VW will offer any diesel engines for US market, since there is no info about these power units.

There is no doubt that vehicles that come out from VW factory are the highest quality, but with tough competition, price tag on this model, makes a difference. For economical people Tiguan rivals such as Kia Sportage, GMC Terrain, Skoda Yeti and Acura RDX.

2015 Volkswagen Tiguan price and release

Price for the 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan is not released yet, but we doubt that it will feature major increase. Due to small amount of changes 2015 VW Tiguan should stay in the same price range as its predecessor, meaning that its price will vary from $23 305 up to $32 995, or few hundreds more. 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan will be released probably by the end of this year, or early on next, while it is expected to go on sale early on 2015.
