2015 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is a mid-size SUV. It belongs to the Land Cruiser range of vehicles, and is one of the smallest vehicles in the range. It is built on Toyota’s J150 platform. Small facelift made for 2014 model year, delayed the generation switch which we expected for 2015. This model, 2015 Prado will probably be carried over, and changes will be minor to none.

Bold and rugged exterior of the 2015 Prado reflects exactly its primary function, which is off-road ability. Recent small refreshment of the front end resulted in refined appearance. 2015 model year exterior changes will probably include just a couple of tweaks, such as some new exterior paint.

2015 Prado is available in four trims GX, GXL, VX and Kakadu. Equipment and trim names depend on the markets, so is popularity. Base Prado will offer 17-inch steel wheels, black-painted details (front grille, power mirrors and door handles), rear spoiler, mud flaps, keyless entry, front and rear climate control, 6-speaker stereo with CD/MP3 and floor-mounted spare tire. Safety standards include ABS with EBD and brake-assist and dual front airbags.

With upgrades going further on each trim, new Prado comes with significant equipment, such as leather upholstery, wood accents and high-tech.

2015 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado comes with 2.7-liter inline-4 engine as base. It produces 160 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque and comes mated to either 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox.

Second engine included into the offer is a 4.0-liter V6 with 271 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. Transmission options for all other engines, including this one are 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic.

Third possibility for petrol engine is a 5.7L DOHC 32-valve V8 that produces 381 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. However US customers could get a diesel powertrain option too, it might be a 3.0 –liter D-4D empowered with 190 horsepower.

All Prados come with all-wheel drive with low-range gearing as standard. Fuel economy rates are not published yet, but we will make it available as soon as Toyota releases the fuel specs.

Toyota still hasn’t revealed exact date of 2015 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado release. Its delay could mean too things – either it will be released really soon, or we will have to wait for the second half of 2015, when we could see a new generation Prado. 2015 model year price should remain unchanged, which means it will stay in range between $70,000 and $80,000.
