2015 Range Rover Evoque

2015 Range Rover Evoque brings several surprises. First of all, the line-up of the popular SUV is extended, and it now includes two more versions, Autobiography and Autobiography Dynamic. The decision to add these trims to Evoque range was made in order to add luxury and performance to this model.

Autobiography trim is known as luxury trim in Land Rover and Range Rover models, so Evoque fans eagerly waited for this addition. Beside these trim extensions, the biggest news for 2015 model year includes Land Rover InControl Apps add-on, which will be available on all trims. 2015 Range Rover Evoque is offered in two- and five-door configuration. Evoque Coupe is available in Pure Plus and Dynamic trim levels, and 5-door models come in Pure, Pure Plus, Dynamic and Prestige.

The owners of this stylish SUV, will be able to access the vehicle through remote control to check the fuel reserve with option to check how far the SUV can be driven on the remaining amount of gas, to help find parked vehicle, to get roadside aid, to access emergency responders, and to track the 2015 Range Rover Evoque in case of a stealing.

New, Autobiography trim comes available for both body styles, for two and five door Evoques. It includes some special design cues, including special color, and atlas silver highlights, as well as new grille design, lower front drape, 20-inch alloy wheels, foglight surrounds, Autobiography badge and few more. Inside the 2015 Evoque Autobiography Range Rover offered leather upholstery available in six color variations, Autobiography imprint and lightened trade plates.

Besides styling cues of the regular Autobiography trim, 2015 Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic’s main features is performance. It has tuned suspension and upgraded engine with more powerful output.

Under the hood of the Evoque are placed two diesel and two petrol engines. Base petrol engine is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 240 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque, while slightly upgraded version of the same engine is found exclusively under the hood of Autobiography Dynamic.  Autobiography Dynamic’s engine is capable to produce up to 285 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes exclusively mated to a 9-speed ZF transmission, while others can be paired to either that or 6-speed manual gearbox. Two diesels include 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine with different outputs. One providing 150 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, and the other 190 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque.

Fuel economy depends on transmission and, of course, on the engine. Diesels, as expected offer much better fuel economy, and base diesel with 6-speed manual transmission delivers 40/52/48 mpg city/hwy/combined, which is outstanding. Turbodiesel with manual gearbox gets 34/47/41 mpg city/hwy/combined, while with automatic it gets almost the same numbers: 34/45/40 mpg. Petrol unit comes only with 9-speed automatic and delivers 23/37/30 mpg.

First among many compeitiors for 2015 Range Rover Evoque is BMW X3 xDrive35i, with amazing performance. Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class is another tough rival that can be equipped with sport package in less than $2 000. Third closest, but not last in competitive line-up, is the Volvo XC60. Popular Evoque could also face couple of SUVs from both Audi and BMW’s line up, too.

2015 Range Rover Evoque was released in February 2014, while special trims including Autobiography and Autobiography Dynamic, had its premier shortly after that, in March, at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Base price range for Evoque will be between $41,100 – $57,600.
