2015 Nissan Xterra

2015 Nissan Xterra carries on its trim line-up and comes available in three trim levels: X, S, and PRO-4X. Xterra PRO-4X is special, due to the fact that it is the trim level specialized for off-road drive. Main upgrades for this model year are related to tech features, while some trim levels get some styling cues, too.

2015 Nissan Xterra X is now available with Bluetooth connection and an upgraded sound system. Beside these newly added features, standard equipment includes 16-inch steel wheels, climate control, power windows, locks, and mirrors, remote keyless entry, cruise control and a 6-speaker AM/FM/CD sound system.

Xterra S received much more for 2015 model year. It now comes with NissanConnect system with Mobile Apps. Other model year additions include 5.0-inch display, USB/iPod interface, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, hands-free text messaging assistant and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. 2015 Xterra S, beside these features, also comes with Easy Clean Cargo Surface and an Utili-track Cargo Channel System.

Top trim, the PRO-4X, offers the widest list of equipment. It has all the features from X and S trims, and more.  Navigation system, 5.8-inch display, Rockford Fosgate premium audio system with 8 speakers, Bluetooth smartphone and audio connectivity, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic headlights, an outside temperature display, SiriusXM Travel Link and SiriusXM Weather.

Regarding exterior, new Xterra will not have any major differences from its predecessors. New exterior color is available, so all buyers will have the ability to choose 2015 Nissan Xterra in Beacon Yellow shade.

There is no much choice regarding the power units of the 2015 Xterra. It comes packed up with only one engine option, a DOHC 4.0-liter V6 that delivers 261 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. All trims have available all-wheel drive, but it is only and standard option for PRO-4X. X and S trims are available with rear-wheel drive as standard and all-wheel drive as optional. Two transmission choices are included into the offer, a 5-speed electronically controlled automatic and 6-speed manual. Manual transmission choice will only be offered for all-wheel drive models, while 5-speed automatic is only choice for RWD models, and for base X trim with 4WD.

Fuel economy is different and depending on drivetrain and transmission choice. With RWD and automatic, 2015 Nissan Xterra is rated at 16/22 mpg, while with AWD and same transmission it delivers 15/20 mpg city/hwy. With 6-speed manual, AWD is the only choice, and those combined offer fuel efficiency rated at 16/20 mpg.

Being one of the few SUV oriented towards off-road performance, 2015 Nissan Xterra has shrunken its competition. Beside the Jeep Wrangler, the Jeep Cherokee and the Toyota FJ Cruiser, there is no any competitor that is made for the same purpose.

Price for the 2015 Nissan Xterra starts at $23 660, which is the price for X trim, meaning that it features $270 increase compared to last year.  $25,670 is the amount you will have to extract for S trim, and $31 640 is the price of PRO-4X. All prices are for 2WD (except PRO-4X which is available only with 4WD) and automatic transmission. 4WD option add around $2 000, while if you opt for 6-speed manual transmission, you will be able to save $1 000, than with automatic.

2015 Xterra scheduled its release for this month, August 2014, and it should be available in dealer showrooms really soon.
