2015 Murano came as big refreshment. Its big redesign was a huge success, and it now looks better than ever. Modern body lines, combined with great features, and better fuel economy. The beginning of the third generation into production Nissan’s Murano marked with a handsome and more aggressive look. New Murano is built on the same platform as Altima and Pathfinder SUV, and compared to last year edition, 2015 Nissan Murano is slightly longer and wider, 2.5 inches longer and 1.3 inches wider, to be precise.

New design is reflected in almost every part of this amazing SUV, starting with the most visible, overall shape. The rounded body shape we’ve known so far, is now much edgier and aggressive, which shows that Nissan decided to follow the current trends in automotive industry. Headlights and taillights have boomerang-shape, and are available with LED technology. Trims are still the same, S, SV, and SL, while fourth, top trim LE changed its name to Platinum. When you open the door, Murano looks clean and high tech oriented. Standard features include 8-way manual driver’s seat,4-way manual front-passenger’s seat, 60/40-split folding rear seats, cloth seats, steering wheel-mounted cruise control, audio system with AM/FM/CD, MP3/WMA CD playback capability, auxiliary audio jack, SiriusXM Satellite Radio (3-month trial subscription), USB/iPod interface, Bluetooth Phone System, hands free text messaging assistant, NissanConnect with Mobile Apps, dual zone automatic climate control, Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button start, RearView monitor and few more.

2015 Nissan Murano comes with only one engine available, 3.5-liter V6 engine. Base and only engine is capable to deliver 260-horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque and comes paired with CVT. Front-wheel-drive is standard across the line-up as well as optional al-wheel-drive. According to Nissan’s officials, new Murano should record fuel economy savings up to 20 percent, which would mean that new Murano should be rated somewhere around 24 mpg of combined ride.

Nissan deffinitey made an impression with its latest 2015 Murano, but it will have to face some tough rivals in its way to the top. Main competitors from its category that have a lot of common features are Toyota Highlander, which also debuted all-new at the 2013 NY Auto Show, and Acura RDX. Both vehicles have its advantages, but we have to say that Murano is, especially now, tough one to beat.

 It is expected to go on sale later this year, but its pricing is not published yet. Murano had its world premiere at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), earlier on this year, in April, and is expected to arrive in US showrooms late this year.
