2015 Mitsubishi Outlander has a lot of news for its new model year edition. Changes include both features upgrades, and some styling cues that make a big difference. Competitive segment and crowded category 2015 Outlander competes in, force all car producers, including Mitsubishi, to make constant improvements.

2015 Mitsubishi Outlander is available in three trims, including ES, SE and GT. All trims got expanded list of standard features, and styling components. Simple body lines and clean cuts are the first thing you will notice when you look at the Outlander. Outlander has 8.5-inches of ground clearance, which make it suitable for off-road conditions too. With 2015 model year alterations, little is done on the exterior. Upper trims receive some minor styling cues, such as new aluminum-alloy wheels, LED taillights and silver roof (GT), while majority of upgrades is on the inside. Interior of the Outlander is luxurious, and equipped with leading technology features. Equipment depends on trims, so list of standard for the base ES trim includes Remote keyless entry with panic feature, Hill Start Assist, ECO Mode, automatic A/C, keyless entry, a AM/FM/CD FUSE sound system, Bluetooth, and 16-inch steel wheels. Upper trims add on heated front seats, a multi-functional display, 18-inch wheels, a touch-screen audio system, FUSE HandsFreeLink and two-zone climate control, as well as backup camera. Some of optional features include 710-watt Rockford Fosgate sound system with nine speakers and a built-in subwoofer, power sunroof, leather upholstery… etc.

Under the hood of 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander, are placed two engines, depending on trim you opt for. Base ES and middle SE trims come with 2.4-liter MIVEC inline-4 engine that pumps-out 166 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a CVT and front-wheel drive as standard, while buyers of the SE version can opt for all-wheel drive. For top trim GT, all-wheel drive is standard and is mated to a 3.0-liter V6 which is capable to deliver 224 horsepower and 215 lb-ft of torque. 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander GT engine is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy rates for lower trims with FWD are 25/31 mpg city/highway, and with AWD 24/29 mpg. GT has fuel economy rates 20/28 mpg city/hwy.

Closest rival for Outlander is Kia Sorento, with similar offer and price range. Another tough rival is Dodge Journey, which has lower starting price, and same amount of space and comfort. Honda CR-V and Hyundai Santa Fe Sport could also face the Outlander, is we look at performance and luxury features they offer, however, Outlander will beat them regarding the space they offer.

2015 Mitsubishi Outlander price and release

Price starts at $23 195 for ES trim with FWD, while FWD SE features$ 1 000 increase, and has a price tag of $24 195. 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander SE with AWD starts at $26 195, and GT at $28 195. Mitsubishi recently released its 2015 Outlander, and it is now available in dealer show-rooms.
