2015 Mazda CX-5: Exterior and Interior

Mazda’s designers did a great job while creating the CX-5. It looks stylish, modern and expensive, inside and out. Classy and elegant exterior is available in seven different color shades, while interior is offered in two shades, including black and sand, and whichever shade you choose you will get high-quality. 2015 Mazda CX-5 will be available in three trim levels including Sport, Touring and Grand Touring. If you are interested in luggage area, behind the rear seats CX-5 offers 34, while with folded back seats you will have 65 cubic feet. Sport version, which is the base, has a lot to offer, and its list of standard features has 17-inch wheels, full power accessories, climate and cruise control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel,  a sound system with four speakers, CD player, auxiliary audio input and a USB/iPod interface. Base trim, 2015 Mazda CX-5 Sport, is run by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine has an output of 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes mated to a front-wheel-drive and six-speed manual transmission as standard. If you opt for the same engine with all-wheel-drive and six speed automatic transmission, you will have to look for versions that were made before May 2014, due to the fact that Mazda decided to switch the engine on its AWD Sport model to a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that gives the power to its Touring and Grand Touring models, and pumps out 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. The 2.5-liter power unit comes mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. 2015 Mazda CX-5 with FWD EPA estimated fuel consumption is rated at 26/32/29 mpg city/hwy/combined with automatic transmission, while manual transmission will allow you score of 35 mpg on the hwy, while combined drive has the same rates. AWD models with a 2.0-liter engine are rated at 25/31/28 mpg. Touring and Grand Touring versions are available also with either AWD or FWD, and fuel economy with FWD and 2.5-liter engine is rated at 25/32/27 mpg, while AWD models have 24/30/26 mpg city/hwy/combined.

The toughest rivals and closest competition for 2015 Mazda CX-5 are Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Ford Escape and VW Touareg. Honda’s CR-V model will provide you quality and comfort of the same class as CX-5, while Mazda’s SUV offers slightly sportier feel during the ride. Ford Escape has stronger engine, while Toyota RAV4 and Touareg which offer great comfort and power, are less efficient.

2015 Mazda CX-5 just recently went on sale, after its debut at the International Auto Show in Johannesburg, last year. However this SUV is now available in dealer showrooms. Its price starts at $21 545 (Sport), and goes up to $27 970 (Grand Touring), while middle trim Touring costs $24 965.
