2015 GMC Terrain Review

2015 GMC Terrain gets couple of significant improvements, mainly in feature department, as well as couple of new exterior colors. GM’s newest connectivity kit–in-car 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot ability is now available, and this is the main difference compared to previous model years.

2015 GMC Terrain is a mid-size crossover SUV with two row seats, and enough place to accommodate up to five passengers. It comes available in two main trim levels – SLE and SLT. Both of them are divided into two sub-levels, and include SLE, SLE2, SLT1 and SLT2.

2015 Terrain base SLE standard equipment includes 17-inch wheels, AM/FM/CD/Sirius XM sound system with 6 speakers, a USB port and 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, a rear view camera, foglights, a driver info center, climate control, rearview auto-dimming mirror, defogger, OnStar 4G with a built-in Wi-Fi hot spot, power windows and locks, cruise control, ambient lighting, keyless access and an anti-theft system.

The SLE2 adds Premium cloth seats, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, leather wrapped multi-functional steering wheel, Auto HVAC and Pioneer premium 8-speaker audio system.

The SLT-1 gets perforated leather-appointed seats, heated front seats and remote ignition.

 2015 GMC Terrain SLT-2 buyers will also get a power sunroof and liftgate, 18-inch Chrome-clad aluminum wheels, driver seat memory settings, Rear Park Assist, a chrome exterior trim, LDW (Lane Departure Warning) and FCA (Forward Collision Alert).

Under the hood of 2015 Terrain is placed 2.4L DOHC 4-cylinder SIDI engine, which is standard power unit and produces 182 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy for 2015 Terrains equipped with this engine and FWD is rated at 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, while with AWD it delivers 20/29 mpg.

Optional engine is a 3.6-liter V6 with 301 horsepower and 272 lb-ft of torque, and fuel consumption rated at 17/24 mpg with FWD and a mile less – 16/23 mpg with AWD.

Both engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission as only option, and front-wheel drive as standard. All-wheel drive is optional also on all trims. This SUV also has an “ECO” drive mode, which, combined with I4 engine, could deliver 11 miles per tank of gas savings.

Ford Escape, Honda CR-V and Volkswagen Tiguan all come available when it comes to “other possibilities” for SUVs from this segment. Smaller versions also can be compared with 2015 GMC Terrain are Hyundai Santa Fe Sport and Ford Edge.

2015 GMC Terrain is already released, and its pricing specs are available too. Its base trim will cost 26 560 ($28 310 with AWD) while upper SLT starts at $29 820 ($31 570 with AWD).
