After its 2014 redesign, and announced end of production after 2015 model year, 2015 Dodge Durango will hardly be changed much, or at all. It looks great, thank to cosmetic changes made last year, and according to some sources, its 2015 model year change will bring few additional features as part of standard equipment.

2015 Dodge Durango is equipped with same engines like its predecessor. Standard 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 unit is powered with 290 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. It comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and with either rear or all-wheel drive depending on trim. RWD drive models are rated at 18/25/20 mpg city/hwy/combined, while AWD models with V6 engine under the hood provide one mile less in every segment. 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 power unit is capable to deliver 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, and is paired with the same transmission as V6, and both drivetrains. V8 engine and AWD provide 14/22/16 mpg city/hwy/combined, while RWD versions have the same mileage in the city, and one mile more on the highway and in combined ride. SXT and SXT Plus trims don’t have V8 available, while, R/T version has only V8 option. 2015 Dodge Durango Limited and Citadel come with V6 as standard and offer V8 as optional.

Durango is one of the most popular SUVs had been in the top position on the market in its category for a long time. Every year this crossover has to face another new competitor, since the automotive industry marks speed growth, especially in the crossover SUV department. Closest rivals for 2015 Durango are Mazda CX-9, Chevrolet Traverse and Toyota Highlander.

Price specs are not published yet, but new Durango will not go far from last year’s range from $29 995 – $43 395. 2015 Dodge Durango will be released sometime during this October, as expected, but we still wait for Dodge confirmation about the rumors regarding the end of production of this model for 2016. If that’s the case, than the 2015 Durango could be the last one, at least for next couple of years, since it could be revamped.
