2015 Buick Anthem is this brand’s new midsize crossover. The goal market for this particular model is China, while American producer didn’t make a decision yet whether it will be available in any other market, beside North American and Chinese. The main purpose of this new addition to the lineup is the gap between small Encore and large Enclave. Great sale results which show 14 percent increase were the best inspiration and the best indicator of the rising popularity of Buick’s vehicles. To stay on that path, and to assure its further success Buick officials decided to offer one think that was missing from their SUV’s offer, mid-size crossover.

Even though there is no reliable info whether Anthem will be presented ad produced for US market, we, however, believe that eventually it will find its place among dealers around the world. The offer on the market forced Buick officials to expand the alignment by adding the size that was missing. 2015 Buick Anthem will be built on GM’s new global platform, which underpins Chevy’s next generation Equinox, and will have similar dimensions as these two do. The name for US market will be changed into something more appealing, Enspire and Envision are some of mentioned names that could be on the nameplate of Anthem.

Specification for latest SUV from Buick’s lineup is not released yet, so there is still no precise info about engines. According to some sources new Anthem will be run by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, while the second option for the base engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers up to 259 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Unofficial info is that new Anthem will have both engines available under the hood, for US customers, but we will see what the truth is. Optional and stronger engine, for Chinese and perhaps US market, too, will probably be a 3.6-liter V6 unit, but exact output is unknown. Interesting news are that there is a big possibility that Buick offers its Anthem in Hybrid variant also, which would be great.

This segment of mid-size crossovers is the most competitive one in all SUVs categories. Lincoln MKC and Lexus NX are its closest rivals, which were redesigned for 2015. Third potential competitor is Nissan Murano which can be proud of its performance too, while the fourth could be Kia Sorento, which was fully redesigned for 2014 model year.

Anthem was recently caught testing on streets of Colorado, and instantly attract attention. Its release is expected early on 2015. Price range is not published yet, and there is no any reliable info, but we will make a full review and specs after its release.
