2015 BMW X5 is produced in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and remains unchanged for this model year. 2015 BMW X5 comes available in four variations, which all differ mainly on engine and drivetrain, while standard features remain the same for each one of them. 2015 BMW X5 sDrive35i, xDrive 35i and xDrive35d all come packed up with 18-inch alloy wheels, leatherette seats, heatable and power-adjustable front seats, 10.2-inch display with Navigation system, panoramic sunroof, park sensors, two-zone automatic A/C, AM/FM/CD sound system with 9-speakers, HD Radio, USB jack and auxiliary input, Bluetooth audio connectivity, full-power accessories, automatic headlights, LED foglights and Xenon self-leveling adaptive headlights.

The xDrive50i variant gets slightly better equipment including 19-inch wheels and leather upholstery.

Optional features are packed into Package Lines – Luxury Line, xLine and M Sport.

The Luxury Line offers cosmetic upgrades, which include details such as 19-inch V-spoke alloy wheels, chrome window border and grill details, Satin Aluminum roof rails, sporty leather-wrapped steering wheel, and few other tweaks.

The xLine includes 19-inch Orbit Grey alloy wheels, Satin Aluminum roof rails and window surround, a sport steering wheel and few more details, including special interior trim.

The M Sport adds an sport-oriented details, such as 19-inch double spoke alloy wheels, high-gloss roof railings, a M steering wheel, a sport automatic gearbox, sport seats…

Stand-alone options will provide numerous choices for every customer. It include Nappa-leather instrument panel, Harman Kardon and Bang & Olufsen sound systems, rear entertainment system, and much more.

2015 BMW X5 comes available with three engines, two petrol and one diesel. The sDrive35i and xDrive 35i come with a turbocharged 3.0-liter I6 with 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. Both rear (sDrive35i) and all-wheel drive (xDrive35i) are available, while transmission offered for these versions is an 8-speed automatic gearbox. 2015 BMW X5 sDrive35i delivers 19/27 mpg city/highway, while all-wheel drive xDrive 35i has fuel economy rated at 18/27 mpg.

Second petrol engine is a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 which produces 445 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque, and is found under the hood of the xDrive50i. This engine is packed with the same transmission as 3.0-liter and comes mated only with all-wheel drive system. Fuel economy for the xDrive50i is rated at 17/22 mpg city/hwy.

Diesel engine is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel I6 capable to produce 255 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. Transmission and drivetrain are the same as for xDrive50i. Diesel power unit is definitely the most efficient one of the available engines and delivers 23/31 mpg city/hwy.

The toughest competitors from 2015 X5’s native country include Mercedes-Benz M-Class and Audi Q7, while other closest rivals are Land Rover LR4 and Infiniti QX70, due to level of luxury and space they offer.

2015 BMW X5 price and release

BMW already presented its 2015 BMW X5 SUV, and it should already be available on the markets. Pricing starts at $53 200 for the base variant – sDrive35i, while all-wheel drive adds another $2 300 and sums up the starting price for xDrive35i at $55 500. 2015 BMW X5 xDrive 50i starts at $69 100, and diesel variant’s base price is $57 000.
