RDX’s powertrain is segment were we predict further upgrades, which will include one more engine option. The power unit that is currently under the hood works perfectly, but we guess that competitive market could force Acura’s officials to go even a step further. 2015 model year didn’t bring any changes. Base and only engine is still 3.5-liter V6 that pumps out 273 hp and 251 pound-feet of torque. Front and all-wheel drive are both incorporated into the offer, but front is standard, and the power from the engine is transmitted via 6-speed automatic transmission. When it comes to numbers, Acura RDX has very high scores for both acceleration time and fuel economy. Fuel economy for FWD versions checks in at 20/28/23 mpg city/hwy/combined, and AWD models are rated at 19/27/22 mpg. 2015 Acura RDX goes from zero to 60 in just 6.5 seconds.

2015 Acura RDX: Competition

The only one engine choice, without other more effective one, puts Acura’s RDX into awkward position when it comes to its competition. Audi Q5’s diversity could jeopardize its place on the market. Other competitors could be 2015 BMW X3 or 2015 Volvo XC60. All these models have its advantages, although Acura shows that its SUV could stand abreast with some of the greatest car producers and innovators and its models, since its standard features list is no shorter.
